In order to sign up to Denmark 2027, you'll need to complete the form below. Once you have done this we will request that your Online Scout Manager record is shared with our central OSM Unit we are using to manage the event. We will then ask you to pay your £100, non refundable deposit. Thereafter we will communicate with you using the contact details listed on OSM.

• How much will the trip cost and when do I need to pay?

• The estimated cost of the trip is approximately £1,200 per participant. This includes the costs outlined above, such as travel, accommodation, activities, excursions, travel insurance and group clothing.

• As some costs depend on factors outside our control, including transport, supplier and activity costs, the final price cannot be confirmed until closer to departure.

• The payment schedule is available at the bottom of this page.

• The £100 deposit is non-refundable, unless the event is cancelled by the organisers.

• The deposit and scheduled instalments total £1,100. Once the final cost of the trip has been confirmed, we will advise families of any remaining balancing payment. If the final cost is lower than estimated and you have overpaid, the difference will be refunded.

• All payments will be collected through Online Scout Manager (OSM), with payment requests issued ahead of each deadline.

• How will the group travel to Denmark?

  • We will travel to Denmark by coach. Our plan is to depart on the evening of Friday 6th and travel overnight, arriving in Denmark at around lunchtime on Saturday.

  • The return journey will follow a similar schedule, departing Denmark on Friday and travelling overnight, with the group arriving back in the UK on Saturday.

• Who else is going?

  • The group will consist of approximately 50 Scouts (aged 10½–14), 24 Explorer Scouts (aged 14–18), and a team of 16 adult leaders.

  • Our leadership team will include a mix of male and female leaders, who will be responsible for supporting the young people throughout the trip.

• What does the price include?

The price of the trip is intended to cover everything needed for the week, including:

• Coach travel to, from and within Denmark

• Accommodation, camping and food

• Activities, excursions and visits

• Travel insurance

• An international scarf

• Group clothing

Further details about what young people will need to bring will be provided nearer the trip.

• Where will the young people be staying?

  • Our Scouts will be staying at Houens Odde Scout Centre in Kolding, where we will be based in the Gillwell Complex.

  • Our Explorer Scouts will begin the trip at Houens Odde before travelling by coach to Skagen to start their expedition. During the expedition, they will travel south through Denmark and stay at campsites in small 2–3 person tents.

  • The Explorers will return to Houens Odde on Wednesday evening, where they will rejoin the Scout group for the remainder of the trip.

• What happens in case of emergency?

  • The safety and wellbeing of our young people is our highest priority. The trip will operate in accordance with The Scout Association’s rules and procedures, including the additional requirements that apply to international trips.

  • Before departure, our plans will go through the required approval process, which includes reviewing areas such as travel arrangements, activities, accommodation, supervision, risk assessments and emergency procedures.

  • Throughout the trip, we will have an established emergency plan and designated contacts in the UK who can support the group and liaise with parents and carers if required.

  • We will also be travelling with two coaches and a team of four drivers. This gives us additional flexibility should circumstances require changes to our plans, including making arrangements for members of the group to return to the UK earlier than planned.

  • Parents and carers will be provided with appropriate contact details and further information about our emergency arrangements before departure.

• Can you cater for allergies and dietary requirements?

  • Yes. We will work with young people and their parents or carers to understand any allergies, intolerances or other dietary requirements before the trip.
